1 John 4:7-11 God is love. Love comes from God and flows through us, but if God is not a part of your life , then you must first be born again.

When we understand His love for us, we think and walk differently. We may not have the best relationship with parents which can affect how we see God the Father. Is it hard to love yourself? You can accept God’s love, but how do we do it?

2 Timothy 1:7 we are not given spirit of fear, but of power, of love and (secure) sound mind so that we are able to take our thoughts captive - we can control them. His love is in me. We have a choice to submit to that spirit of power, love and sound mind. It is our choice and take responsibility. More you yield to God, the easier it gets. If you are self reliant, you have to grow in leaning on God and not yourself.

John 15:9- abide in my love; keep my commandments, then you can abide in His love. Do we let Him lead and guide us? Our life is not our own, we are to give ourselves to Him daily and surrender. i.e., if challenged to love someone, Lord checks our surrender if we prefer God’s plan over our own.

Proverbs - how foolish is the man who can’t control his anger. We must choose to do what’s best in following God’s leading. Learn there’s a blessing when we yield to God - it’s different, it’s better; we can love someone where we couldn’t in and of ourselves.

Nehemiah 8:10 The joy of the Lord is your strength

Ephesians 3:16-21 AMP to know the depth, height, etc of your love. Out of the overflow of receiving God’s love, we can love others and know God takes care of us. Let His love flow through us.

“God gave me this beautiful love letter to guide my life. His word is alive. So I am going to take this Word and I am going to live it. He doesn’t put it in here and tells me “I hope you can do this.” If he tells us to do it then he empowers us to do it, he anoints us to do it, he expects us to do it!”

Romans 12:16-18 Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty (snobbish, high-minded, exclusive), but readily adjust yourself to [people, things] and give yourselves to humble tasks. Never overestimate yourself to be wise in your own conceits. Repay no one evil for evil, but take thought for what is honest and proper and noble [aiming to be above reproach] in the sight of everyone. If possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.

“I began to pray for someone and the more I prayed for this person the easier it got. Then I began to see this person through different eyes; no longer was it through my eyes of hurt, disappointment, or anger. I began to see this person through eyes of compassion. I began to see what this person didn’t have in their life and why they probably reacted or lived the way they did or why they were mean towards me.”

1 Corinthians 13:4-8 Love endures long and is patient and kind; love never is envious nor boils over with jealousy, is not boastful or vainglorious, does not display itself haughtily. It is not conceited (arrogant and inflated with pride); it is not rude (unmannerly) and does not act unbecomingly. Love (God’s love in us) does not insist on its own rights or its own way, for it is not self-seeking; it is not touchy or fretful or resentful; it takes no account of the evil done to it [it pays no attention to a suffered wrong]. It does not rejoice at injustice and unrighteousness,, but rejoices when right and truth prevail. Love bears up under anything and everything that comes, is ever ready to believe the best of every person, its hopes are fadeless under all circumstances, and it endures everything [without weakening]. Love never fails [never fades out or becomes obsolete or comes to an end].

Fill yourself up by being in the word and praying so you can be a light for Christ and let his love radiate out of you.

“You are a carrier of God’s love, a carrier of God’s spirit. His power, His love is inside you!”
